In this new season of our church it is more important then ever that understand our values. What makes us tick? What guides our decision making process? When you cut a New Hope member, what do they bleed? I want to encourage you, even if you think you know what our four core values are to revisit them with me and make sure these values are resident within your own ministries and in your own life. We celebrate two years this Sunday and what that means is that we celebrate you! Thank you doesn't come close to telling you how we feel about you and the call of God on your lives. We begin a third year together with more then we ever thought possible. We move together as a team to reach as many as possible while it is still called "today"!

This Sunday's service will be a little more segmented (or liturgical) in format. We will have worship songs as a public response to each of the points in the message. We are taking a look at what the Israelites did to prepare to cross over to the Promised Land under Joshua's leadership. We will prepare our hearts in the same way as we prepare to cross over to a whole new season of ministry for New Hope Seattle!

This week we continue in our preparation for the move to our new building and the adoption of Richmond Highlands Baptist Church. We will look at the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives to direct, connect, and inspect His people. Using Psalm 139 as a backdrop we will see the three ways the Holy Spirit serves as the G.P.S. of the soul!

Now that the 40 Days of Purpose are over and we know that we're here for a reason, what's next? Last night I shared out of 1 Peter and God has called all of us, young and old, to clothe ourselves in humility. Pastor Steve approached me afterward and told me he was preaching out of the same passage to the Baptist church this weekend! How's that for confirmation. We know God has called us to unity, but most of us think it's just going to happen automatically or that it's not that high of a priority. As it turns out God moves in an atmosphere created in unity through humility. This weekend we will look at the five ways to stay one! (video iPod friendly)

It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of the 40 Days of Purpose. We have been planned for God's pleasure (worship), formed for God's family (fellowship), created to become like Christ (discipleship), shaped to serve God (ministry), and made for a mission (evangelism). What we will find this weekend through testimonies, photos, and vision is that these last 40 Days were spiritual preparation for the days ahead. Even as this campaign is ending I will be announcing the beginning of a whole new season for this church plant as we move towards our Two Year Anniversary on October 1st! I pray that everyone will take what they have learned over these past days and live it out, pass it on, and make it real in the days to come.

This Sunday we will continue our 40 Days of Purpose as we look at the third purpose for our existence- Discipleship! The message is entitled God and The Grill as. You had to know I would work in my BBQ somehow! The message will be presented in a way that includes The City Vineyard church. This week we will take a look at our second purpose for being alive- Fellowship! This is something we love to do, but most of us understimate the power of fellowship in our lives. It's more than a pat on the back or a potluck lunch, it's an invitation to an etermal family! Regardless of how close we think we are fwith fellow believers, there is another level each of us can grow into: Membership leads to friendship leads to partnership leads to kinship. Last week we looked at our our vertical relationship of love with our God through worship and this week we will look at our horizontal relationship of love with one another through fellowship! This week we will be looking at the first of the five purposes: Worship. It turns out that worship is a whole lot more than simply the musical section of the Sunday morning service. We have been planned for God's pleasure and worship is what we give our lives to. It requires all of our attention, affection, and abilities. Once we walk in a lifestyle of worship we will experience the fulfillment God created us for. This Sunday we will look at how to prepare our hearts for what God wants us to do. Not only will we be reading together, attending small groups together, and memorizing scripture together, we will also be praying together. I will share the prayer I am praying over New Hope Seattle and invite each of you to join me in this prayer as well. We will be looking at how to make the most of the short time we have on this earth. We will be answering three basic questions that each of us must face before embarking on our 40 Days of Purpose journey: What Does God Want? What Does It Take? And Why Should I Do It? Essentially we will get as much out of these 40 Days as we put into it!

It has nothing to do with the sensationalism of a Hollywood movie or a novel written with creative license. It has everything to do with the fact that Christ’s blood was spilt and caught and carried in the vessels of those who call Him Lord. Father's Day- Dan Brown enjoys the liberty of using the early Church Father's as fodder for his attacks against Christianity. We will take a look at actual and factual historical accounts of what the founders of the church considered important enough to die for! Their lives will challenge what we live for and what we would die for today! (video iPod friendly)

If the church responds with open arms and open dialogue rather than scorn and fear of questions Dan Brown’s feigned facts about the church may well be a blessing in disguise. It opens up discussions with spiritual seekers who have otherwise written off the church. The big question is whether or not the church is still relevant in the 21st Century! The answer is a resounding “yes�. What does the Biblical response to environmentalism? What is the Biblical response to social injustice? Let’s take a look!

Pastor Dan Laurenzo from New Life Center approaches the concept of Jesus in a secular world. "We get the strongest clues to help us clarify Jesus' identity in his own words and descriptions about Himself. What did the eyewitnesses report about Him? How did He present Himself in relation to God? "Suppose we conclude that Jesus is God. What difference does that make to us? If He is God He is large enough to lead me into my personal destiny. If He is God He is large enough to carry my pain. If He is God He is large enough to invite me to personal surrender." How would any of us like it if while we were out of town someone began to spread lies and slander about us to friends and family? What if they even went through the trouble of creating false documents to soil your good name? Would you stand for it? Would you just let it go by without providing facts that would vindicate your name? What if Jesus sat down and had a dialogue with Dan Brown or anyone who attacked His divinity, His authority, His validity, and His family? We will look at what Jesus said to His detractors while here on earth and see how He silenced them then as He will silence them now. (video iPod friendly)

Picking up where we left off in the Deconstructing DaVinci’s Code we take a more in depth look at the claims of Dan Brown’s novel and their implications in relation to the Christian faith. The dialogue must continue between the church and those with questions if The Truth is to be found. We don’t run from the questions, we take them head on. This series will find further dialogue and depth through the DaVinci Discussion Groups that will coincide with this series. What is the goal of this journey called life? Very simply that our road would become His road. This means our job, our home, our lives become wrapped up in the very essence of who God is.
